This is how SIGMA preps for events with Cheqroom

The SIGMA Corporation of America joined our Cheqroom family a little under a year ago and we finally got to meet their lovely team in person at this year’s NAB show. We were impressed by their booth, the organization and set-up of their camera gear, and how well they had implemented Cheqroom into their workflow.

A quick introduction

SIGMA produces high-quality, high-performance photographic technology. Danielle Rischawy is the Marketing Specialist at the New York Office and heard about Cheqroom from a friend at DJI.

With almost 2500 pieces of equipment traveling from event to event, they needed a flexible tool to keep their gear organized between their offices in New York and California. Plus, it had to be something the reps would want to use in the field as well.

“We had been using spreadsheets for so long, it felt like our second nature. We took time to figure out the best workflow that could help us track all of our lenses and camera gear. NAB is a big show, and it was the first time we put our Cheqroom workflow to the test, and it’s been a huge success. We kept a lot of equipment in kits, and a whole new booth design and Cheqroom helped us with set-up time and keeping it organized.”

How they kept it organized at NAB

Many different lenses, such as the Arts, Sports, and Contemporary line, were displayed at their booth. Danielle organized the location of where each type of lens would be displayed before the fair took place:

“For every type of lens, I created a Kit within Cheqroom and added the location of where they would be displayed in our NAB booth, including the shelf number. This meant that each rep only had to check in about 10 lenses at a time, instead of the whole inventory at once. And they knew right away where the lenses would go as well.”

Last year we were still using spreadsheets, and it was tough to manage all gear in an organized way. It took us about 4 hours to pack or unpack all of our lenses. Now it takes about half the time, and our reps love using the mobile app!

Favorite feature

“We use Cheqroom for events like NAB, but also for smaller regional events where we have a lot of loaner equipment. With Cheqroom, our reps can easily check out gear to individual loaners and mark their name and contact information. So now we always know who has what and where everything is.

But my favorite feature is probably the tagging and scanning part. I love that we can tag all our gear with the small dot labels and just walk up to a lens, scan the tag with the mobile app, and see all the necessary information.”
